Throughout the Babylonian empire, the largest lions were captured and kept for being hunted by a king. This painting features a company of larger-than-life Mesopotamian, Mediterranean, and "Egyptian Barbary lions  Such lions are extinct today, but were abundant in the times of Daniel, echoing the fate of multiple biblical nations that disappeared from pages of history. An archaic jug depicted with Daniel resembles the 3,800-year-old piece of pottery discovered in Israel in 2016. This painting is a Finalist of the International Art Renewal Center Salon Competition in 2020.
